Minutes of the AGM 3 February 2014

 

The committee welcomed the 60 members present and the ladies from the charity “Amigos de Los Niños” . The the ladies were presented with 500 € from club funds for which they thanked us warmly.

After taking account of this donation, our funds stand at 2.223 € .

 

Following this, Edwin read a resume of the past year’s activity in Flemish plus a smaller resume in German and Italian. Robin read the same thing in English and Nenette in French.

 

It was then proposed that Eveline ( Rocco’s wife) be asked to join the committee for here language abilities and, in particular, to help us communicate better with our Italian friends.

 

18 euros are due to Gerda who paid some money from her own pocket.

 

Information from John : The valentines day trip to Westhavenbay will cost 40 €/pers. (bus and meal inclusive) and the day will end at Castañuelas where the Duo Recuerdo will be waiting for you to dance.

21 February : Dinner at Castañuelas (meat or salmon saumon), followed by an evening of dancing.

6 March : Dinner for the carnaval des mujeres at Westhavenbay (18 €, including the bus).

21 March, we will celebrate spring and the end of our season with an evening of dinner and dancing at Castañuelas.

 

On the membership cards next year, will be added the address of the club blog so that we hope more people will read the “news”.

For the competition against Tenbel, 14 “captains” have been selected. They need to put forward their complete teams and we wish them luck in winning !

 

The following positions were confirmed. Edwin, President ; Paul, Vice President (proposed by Bert) ; Secretary, Nenette ; Marie-Louise, Treasurer and the other committe members remain the same and carry out their current functions.

 

Fay proposed that we organise more competitions on Sundays. The feeling was that it is unnecessary but anyone is free to organise their own at any time.

 

The old question of toilets was raised again but was rejected on the grounds that they could not be installed where we play !

 

Next year, paying annual fees will be possible only from 13h to 16h on Monday and if anyone wishes to take part in a competition, they must be in possession of an up to date card before hand. They will not be able to join on the day of the competition.
